HoodieTV: Tories and alcohol

Welcome to HoodieTV, my new series of video blogs. I'll be posting a new episode every Friday afternoon for the next few weeks - if it works well, and has a good response, I'll keep it going as a regular feature.

This week's episode deals with misleading campaigning by the Tories, and the liberal way to tackle alcohol-related crime.

Hey, nice to see the move into vlog :)
I couldn't agree more about the crap in that Tory leaflet, but surely you have to expect these things? I'm sure some Lib Dems have been caught out with "inaccuracies" (for want of a better word) in their election material over the years...

Anyway, thanks for the link to my blog! I haven't updated it in months and the reason I didn't notice your link is that I read your posts through RSS and haven't actually visted your website since you set it up :p

Hahaha an excellent post jonny, except i probably wouldn't get into an argument about whose electoral tactics are dirtier, considering some of the literature we put out...

Regardless, though, the Tories seem to be on the all-out offensive with the local elections not far off and i predict we'll see some unexpected losses to them on election night. It's hard to see Ming taking any new ground, or even holding on to that which we already have.

Thankfully, local elections are less influenced by the likes of Cameron and Campbell and more by local issues on which we might still be able to trump the Tories.

Sorry Jonny, I don't think you can simply look at the German situation and apply it over here. As you point out yourself, the German situation is very different - in general there is a more responsible attitude towards drinking, one that can be emulated here since in the private home drinking is legal from the age of 5, or in a restaurant 14. The fact is however, even though young people can drink from an early age, responsible drinking is NOT encouraged, and a change in the law to allowed 16 year olds to go down to the Off-License themselves to buy their bottles of white lightning isn't going to change that.
