The Windows Vista Challenge (prize on offer)

For quite a few weeks now, my technologically-savvy father has been writing an excellent blog about his experiences with Windows Vista. If you haven't yet tried this bug-infested, memory-munching excuse for an operating system, then you are very lucky. It came installed on our new desktop PC, which, despite being more powerful than the old one by a factor of 10, ran at about half the speed. That is, until we upgraded it back to Windows XP.

My dad has set an amusing challenge on his techie blog, and I thought I'd share it with the political blogging community. Imagine that VISTA were an acronym. What might it stand for?

I'll start you off with my own suggestion:

Very
Irritating -
Switch
To
Apple

Best suggestion in the comments wins a drink at Lib Dem Conference. (Unless you're not a Lib Dem, in which case it'll be a drink somewhere else.)

I 'upgraded' my own computers to Linux a while ago, but bought a new PC for the kids which happened to come with Vista installed. I cannot believe how slowly a new PC can run - Vista is shocking! My acronym therefore is Vista Is Shocking Try Another Operating System (VISTA OS)

Cant give you an acronym but would suggest you go down the Mac route. Win 98 equalled Apple 84 and Vista is a poor imitation of OS 10.4 which has been out about two years. Here's to 10.5 and Leopard putting Windoze back in the shade again.

I run Xandros Linux via Parallels too. I've got WinXP running via Boot Camp but virtually never use it !
