Are you seriously mourning for the guy? Are you off your collective rocker? C'mon, it is perfectly possible to oppose the death penalty without shedding tears for a mass murderer.

I agree. I made the point on my blog that I think he is an evil man and I wanted to see him rot forever in a cell, but I cannot support the death penalty in any circumstances.
its not about shedding a tear, its about his death not solving any problems, and the perpetuation of the "eye-for-an-eye" mentality which has permeated the middle east since time immemorial and is there greatest obstacle to any kind of peace or progress
That's a very reasonable attitude Leo, and I agree with you, but when some muppet on the LDYS forum started a thread entitled "Saddam Hussain, R.I.P.", you can be sure that's not what they had in mind.
